Andrew Sheer spoke with reporters this morning in Ottawa. Increasing the pressure and attacks on the Prime Ministers recent scandals, stating:
“(We are) starting off this campaign knowing two new things. One that the RCMP is investigating into possible obstruction of justice charges in the Prime Ministers office, and two , that Justin Trudeau is doing everything he can to block that investigation“
He followed up with:
“So I am calling on Justin Trudeau to do the right thing and imminently waive full privilege so that those individuals can testify to the RCMP”
An obvious move for the Conservative party with the recent findings of the Ethics Committee where the Prime Minister breached section 9 of the Conflict of Interest Act. The PMO has been under fire since the release of the Globe and Mail article and the subsequent hearings, but Justin has been thwarting the process the entire time. Claiming cabinet confidence to restrict testimonies of critical witnesses, as well as utilizing the liberal stacked committees to strike down motions that may release this important information. The Prime Minister certainly seems to be actively attempting to impede the investigations into his actions.
Sheer continued with questions from the reporters, adding:
“You know, we have been telling Canadians and showing Canadians how Justin Trudeau has consistently mislead them, he has lied, he has looked Canadians in the eye and said things that he knew was not true, and we made the case that he has lost the moral authority to govern. So over the next five weeks or so, we are going to be outlining our vision for the country, to put more money back in the pockets of Canadians and let them get ahead. But what today shows is that you just can not trust Justin Trudeau. He will say anything to cover up his scandals and he will say anything to get re-elected and Canadians can not believe anything he says.”
Canada is in for a heated election cycle. Riddled with personal attacks from both sides. Topped off by RCMP investigations into the Prime Minister himself. Sheer stated that he did not believe the Prime Minister at all, a sentiment that is held by many Canadians. Liberals seem to ignore these facts. Maybe actual charges against the PM will enlighten them. We will soon see..
